Silver Cleaner Directions:
After removing the tub and its contents from the box tear open a tablet
from the pouch and place it in the tray and than place the silver jewelry

Silver Jewelry and rinse with tap water. Heavily tarnished jewelry may require
staying in the solution over night.
Disclaimer: The Powervescent Silver Spa is environmentally friendly but
some cautions should be exercised when cleaning Coral, Pearls, Lapis Lazuli,
Turquoise, Malachite and oil treated stones. Extreme hot water could damage
soft stones, remove paint that is not enameled and areas where glue is used.
DO NOT put the aluminum tray in the microwave. Results will vary.
Is the Powervescent Silver Spa safe for travel?
Yes, absolutely it is not only convenient and easy to use but the integrity
of the product has been tested for sensitivity to pressure, temperature,
and leakage under unusual conditions. In those tests, results showed stability
at all levels. This is a non-explosive tablet excellent for travel by any
means of transportation. Small, light weight, non-spill, non-evaporating.
Can you clean more then one silver item at a time?
Yes, you can clean all your silver jewelry that will fit in the tray however
results will improve with fewer pieces cleaned at one time. You may mix
your gold and silver together without fear of chemical electroplating.
Is the Powervescent Silver Spa safe?
Yes, Powervescent Silver Spa is non-toxic and has been labeled environmentally
friendly by the EPA. Unlike many silver cleaning products on the market
which contain acidified thiourea a carcinogenic agent; the Powervescent
Silver Spa is environmentally friendly while maintaining less exposure
to reoccurring tarnish.
What about Toxicity?
There is no toxicity associated with this product. However ingesting a tablet
may result in mild diarrhea. If exposed to the eyes, it may cause redness.
The same reaction one may encounter if ingesting or exposing the eyes to
mild soap.
Why a Powervescent® tablet?
Because it is the simplest and most convenient form available. It is light,
neat, does not spill, does not evaporate, maintains potency, and is easy
to handle and use. It best simulates an ultrasonic cleaner without the
harmful effects. A Powervescent tablet acts with a silent uneven cadence
that gently massages the jewelry and stones. This action maintains movement
for not only a cleaning solution helping to pull the oils, dirt and grime
from the jewelry without cracking or loosening any stones but aiding in
the transfer of the tarnish (sulfur oxide).
What makes Powervescent Silver Spa effective?
Powervescent is effective because it uses a safe well used transfer practice
in combination in a well balanced formulation of ingredients newly designed
to work in concert with each other to maximize tarnish transfer with a
total cleaning performance.
Why use very hot to boiling water?
Because heat is the catalyst required for transferring sulfur oxide to a
special designed aluminum tub and with a unique chemical balance present
in the Powervescent Silver Spa makes the transfer possible through the
use of the water while at the same time cleaning the silver leaving a clean
bright look without pitting. Important to note that heavy tarnish jewelry
may need to be left over night to remove all or most all the tarnish.
Can the Powervescent Silver Spa be reused?
Yes, BUT NOT RECOMMENDED because the transfer properties are weak and performance
is minimized. The uniqueness in the movement developed by the effervescence
and heat of the hot water are lost. The solution will still clean and act
just like other liquid jewelry cleaners but, as with all liquid cleaners,
the solution becomes dirty after the first cleaning. Since the solution
does not recognize the absence of the jewelry the cleaning ingredients
continue to clean. In a very short time the solution becomes ineffective.
Will the silver jewelry gum up when polished using a polishing machine if
after using the Powervescent silver spa?
There has been no evidence of this occurring using the Powervescent Silver
Spa Jewelry Cleaner. While removing the tarnish it is cleaning off any transparent
residue creating a brilliant shine on its own.
Do liquid silver cleaners become ineffective?
Yes, all liquid cleaners become ineffective when they get contaminated. The
more contaminated the solution, the faster the ineffective process takes
place. Exposure to light will also lead to the ineffectiveness of a cleaner.
Will the Powervescent Silver Spa stay potent?
Yes, each tablet is sealed to assure top quality potency. As long as the
packaging is not tampered with or abused, that potency is guaranteed for
a minimum of three years.
Will Powervescent Silver Cleaner remove all tarnish?
Yes, with the exception of having the silver coated with any covering transparent
or other that hides the metal surface. Extremely deep tarnish may require
another cleaning and leaving in the solution over night. Results will vary.
What is chemical electroplating?
When different metal items are placed in a chemical solution, a reaction
takes place where one item coats the other item with its metal. An ingredient
added to the Lockhart Jewelry Cleaner prevents this from occurring. Electroplating
can occur with other liquid jewelry cleaners.
Is the Powervescent Cleaner safe for all stones?
No, caution needs to be exercised when cleaning Coral, Pearls, Lapis Lazuli,
Turquoise, Malachite and oil treated stones. These stones run the risk
of losing their luster because cleaners are designed to dissolve oils.
Even though the Powervescent Jewelry Cleaner was designed to minimize this
occurrence through a well-balanced formulation of chemicals, it is recommended
that you avoid using any type of cleaning chemicals on the above stones.
Is the Powervescent Silver Spa Cleaner safe for watches?
Only if the watch is waterproof may it be placed in the tub, since the cleaning
procedure involves using water you would not want to place a non-waterproof
watch in the Silver Spa tub.
Does the Powervescent Silver Spa crystallize epoxy?
Yes, epoxy holding together parts to a silver piece of jewelry will not necessarily
hold up under the method being used by the Powervescent Silver Spa due
to the heat required to remove tarnish. When the extreme heat is reduced
for just cleaning the chance of crystallizing also reduces.
What is meant by no jewelry size restrictions?
Under the container size restrictions imposed on the consumer by the manufacturers
of other liquid cleaning solutions or home ultrasonic cleaners, it is almost
impossible to clean a large piece of jewelry. On the other hand, the Powervescent
Silver Spa allows jewelry of all sizes to be cleaned using any type aluminum
container that comfortably accommodates that jewelry. A rule of thumb will
be one tablet per eight ounces of water.
What is meant by Powervescent®?
Powervescent means a well-balanced formulation of chemicals that is combined
with the action of effervesces to create a powerful jewelry cleaner.
What is the size of each tablet?
About the size of two nickels stuck together, one on top of the other.
Is the Powervescent Silver Spa expensive?
No. In fact, when you consider the cost of liquid jewelry cleaners and all
of their disadvantages, including the contamination factor, heath hazards
the Powervescent Silver Spa is far less expensive.
What makes the Powervescent tablet unique?
First, the continuous effervescence action that Powervescent tablet maintains
is for 5 to 10 minutes using hot tap water and less when using boiling
water. Secondly, the Powervescent is a well balanced formula that uses
fewer chemicals; a synergic effect takes place using those chemicals when
present in connection with the hot water resulting in a desirable cleaning
and tarnish removal.
Is the Powervescent Silver Spa patented?
Yes, the Powervescent Silver Spa holds the patent domestically and internationally.
How often can you clean your jewelry with the Powervescent Silver Spa tablets?
As often as needed. This should be considered a perfect method of maintenance
to ward off tarnish build up. Once the tarnish is removed the jewelry can
be cleaned without the aluminum tub. Using any size any type containers
that will accommodate the jewelry being cleaned add hot water to cover
the jewelry and add the Powervescent Silver Spa tablet. If the tarnish
builds up due to the lack of maintenance return to the process using the
Powervescent Silver Spa tub. There is no limitation on the number of times
an individual can use the Powervescent Silver Spa the process only removes
tarnish and dirty not the silver. Under normal conditions once a month
is adequate, but the individual¹s life style will determine the number
of cleanings requires to meet their needs.
NOTE: Accessibility and malleability of silver jewelry or gold jewelry render
few limitations to its design. When other materials or colored stones that
are added to create a look caution must be observed when cleaning or removing
tarnish of the silver or gold as stones run the risk of losing their luster
because cleaners are designed to dissolve oils or strip tarnish. Even though
the Powervescent Spa was designed to minimize this occurrence through a well-balanced
formulation of chemicals and product manipulation, it is recommended that
you exercise caution and know the jewelry that you are cleaning. Results
will vary.
